Vibrotherapy - reduces the formation of soreness (DOMS)

Vibrotherapy treatments applied after exercise reduce fatigue, speed up recovery and have the effect of reducing symptoms of delayed onset muscle soreness syndrome (DOMS), i.e. reducing soreness.

How does it work?

Vibrotherapy stimulates and improves superficial and deep (proprioceptive) neuromuscular conduction, increases muscle strength, regulates hormonal responses and improves lymphatic drainage, leading to a reduction in pain and improved mood.

When and for whom?

Vibration massage is recommended for professional athletes, amateur sportsmen and women, but also those weakened after an illness and wishing to return to a high level of sporting form; also people with a lifestyle with limited or difficult access to active exercise.

Effectiveness

By analysing the concentrations of selected biochemical indices on a group of 20 young men, it was shown that the application of oscillatory-cycloidal vibration (Vitberg RS) during 60 min of rest after 120 min of intense exercise promotes faster and more effective recovery than rest alone without vibration.

DOMS

"Muscle sores" (delayed onset muscle soreness syndrome - DOMS) are often triggered by increased and prolonged physical exertion. DOMS is associated with the development of inflammatory processes in response to mechanical damage to skeletal muscles. Muscle efficiency then decreases, and muscle mass and strength may also decrease. The pain and discomfort caused by DOMS can impede physical training, reduce performance and complicate daily activities.

Wibroterapia DOMS

Although muscle soreness (DOMS) is experienced by a large number of people on a daily basis, its effective treatment is not well established. As research shows, vibration therapy can be beneficial at both the professional, hospital or home prevention and treatment level for DOMS.
